BRINGING HOPE TO COMMUNITIES

Cole’s generous heart and dedication to giving back prompted him to start his own foundation alongside his wife, Heidi. With Cole’s parents both being educators and Heidi being and educator herself, education was a natural fit for the focus of The Hamels Foundation. Cole and Heidi aim to inspire hope for kids through education. In addition to his foundation work, Cole coaches a pitching clinic each year for young athletes ages 12-17 and gives back to American troops for their service to our country.

BUILDING DREAMS THROUGH EDUCATION

THE HAMELS FOUNDATION

The Hamels Foundation was founded in 2009 by co-founders Cole and Heidi Hamels to provide hope and a brighter future for children by providing financial support for educational opportunities. The Hamels Foundation works domestically and internationally to empower children in inner-city schools in the United States and in rural Malawi, Africa. Using a community-based approach to education, The Hamels Foundation provides assistance to schools and educational programs as well as financial support to other education-based nonprofits in the United States.

ALL KIDS CAN ACHIEVE THEIR DREAMS IF THEY REALLY WANT TO, AND THAT’S WHAT I WANT TO SHOW THEM.

– COLE HAMELS

ALL-STAR HITTING & PITCHING CLINIC

Each year, Cole coaches an All-Star Hitting & Pitching Clinic for young athletes. This year, Cole and Michael Young, 7-time MLB All-Star and Gold Glove winner, and other baseball professionals and coaches will provide one-on-one training and instruction to athletes ages 12-17. All campers will receive an autographed baseball signed by Cole and Michael, photo with Cole and Michael, lunch, swag bag and more.

GIVING BACK TO AMERICAN TROOPS

OPERATION 35

Operation 35 is a military recognition program. Cole brings out Fort Hood soldiers to the Globe Life Park to enjoy a Texas Rangers home game. Cole and Heidi created Operation 35 to show their appreciation to American servicemen and women. Cole had a similar program in Philadelphia called Hamels’ Heroes, where nearly half of all home games were designated to provide U.S. Military veterans and their guests with Phillies home game tickets.
